– Drop-in cooktop
– Double burner induction
– Super Slim design
If these are key phrases you look for your future induction cooktop, you might just have found it.
RamblewoodGreen ICQ2-31C is a drop-in cooktop, very stylish and very slim.
You can use it in your kitchen as the main stove or even in your basement kitchen. It can be the perfect solution both for homes and restaurants kitchens.
1. Controls
The controls are so subtle marked on the surfaces of the unit: no writing, but intuitive icons and arrows. The touch control panel is made of ceramic glass and it is very easy to clean and to access. The operation for both zones is the same.
When you want to cook, just place an induction cookware on the burner and connect to the plug.
Press the icon with a little vertical line in a little circle, and then the light will shine. This means the cooker is heating up. But if you then press this button while cooking, the cooker will stop working, the fan will cool down the cooktop for 60 seconds and then the appliance will be off.
Again, when you press this icon and you don’t use the cooker within 2 hours, it will automatically shut off. This will prevent accidents.
To adjust the power from 1 to 8 level you should use the up and down arrows. The timer can be set from 0 to 99 minutes.
To lock the unit, just press the icon with a little padlock on a circle. Use this function to avoid accidental change of mode.
When you press the “LOCK” key, the locking indicator will flash and the other keys will be disabled.
When you want to unlock the hob, just hold the “LOCK” key for 2 seconds.
2. Surface
The black surface is made of ceramic glass and its dimensions are 304 mm in width (that is 12 inches) and 510 mm depth (20″). It looks remarkable, very sleek, and with slim circles that mark the heated hobs.
You can clean it very easy, without rubbing or insisting in eliminating the dirt. That is because dirt will not get stiffed as the surface will remain cool.
3. Heating Elements
There are two heating elements on this unit, each with a coil for detecting the magnetic bottom of the pan.
However, pans that are too small won’t work. The minimum pan size should be 5 or at least 4 inches, or else the sensor will not be capable of detecting the pan.
The two hobs have different sizes. The one next to the control panel is smaller and the other is larger.
4. Power/Watts
The outpower is 3000W and the input is 240VAC with 60Hz.
The maximum power for the small hob is 1.6KW while the large hob has 2.6 KW.
5. Sensors
To save energy it has an auto-off safety sensor. The pan-detection sensor will automatically “feel” the induction cookware and the hob will not heat unless you place a suitable pan on it.
In case of problems, you will able to read some error messages on the display. This will help you rapidly figure out where is the problem and how can you fix it.
a) Error message E0: there is no pan on the hob or you placed a non-induction pan or pot. To make the error go away just place a suitable pan or pot on the burner.
b) Error message E1: temperature of the appliance is too high. To fix the problem unblock the ventilation slots and let the unit cool off.
c) Error message E2: you are heating an empty pan or the temperature of the pan is too high. In this situation, you should remove the pan from the burner and let the unit cool off.
d) Error message E3: the voltage is unusual and you should let the unit cool off for some minutes.
6. Ventilation
On the back of the RamblewoodGreen ICQ2-31C1, there is a fan whose role is to ensure good ventilation for proper working.
To keep it well ventilated, make sure to ensure enough space around the appliance.
Never place it right next to other appliances and never block the air intake or the exhaust vent. The fan seems to be a little too loud but never try to obstruct it in order to make it more silent.
7. Safety Features
Induction stoves are safer to use. So is the RamblewoodGreen ICQ2-31C1. It has an automatic pan detection, so if there is no compatible pan on the burner, it will not heat.
The same, when you take off the pan, the surface may remain a little bit hot, but it will become cool in a few seconds.
Fortunately, the manufacturer gives you a very nice guide that will help you better use the induction cooker. You should read the safety instructions from the beginning. For instance, if the surface gets broken you shouldn’t turn on the unit.
To prevent overheat, never turn on the appliance when the pan on the burner is empty.
8. Accessories
No induction pan or pot is included in the price.
Be sure you have a compatible induction set. You will find an installing guide in the box, along with the unit.
9. Dimensions
RamblewoodGreen ICQ2-31C1 weighs 11 pounds and it measures 20 inches length, 12 inches width, and just 2 inches height. We see it is very slim and it provides optimal comfort.
Because this cooktop can be built-in a countertop, we are especially interested about the dimensions we should take into account when installing it. The counter top cut out dimensions are 275mm x 500mm inches and the depth clearance from the counter top surface should be 5 inches.
You should cut an aperture in the counter respecting the dimensions clearly given by the manufacturer. You should preserve at least 50 mm space around the hole.
The thickness of the counter should over 30 mm and you should choose heat-resistant counter material to avoid deformation. The distance between the hot place and any bar above the hotplate should be over 760mm.

However those who awarded 3 or 4 stars out of 5, have justified their mark claiming that the unit beeps a lot, the fan is a little too loud or that it is quite difficult to use two large pots on the two hobs at the same time because they are too close.

14. F.A.Q.
Which function provides the middle control of RamblewoodGreen 12″ 2 Hob Induction Cooktop, ICQ2-31C1? Can I set a griddle on both burners of the cooktop?
You are right; there is a middle control for the timer and its indicator. The timer can be used to turn off the unit after the set time runs out. And yes, if you had the right sort of pan you could turn on both burners at the same time, but it would only heat up where the big circles are.
