Max Burton is one of the induction cooktop brands of Aervoe, which produces more models for different uses. Some of them are dedicated to home users, others to professionals.
Consumers commonly compare the two most popular models: Max Burton 6200 Deluxe 1800 watts model and Max Burton 6500 ProChef 1800 watts.
I’m going to compare these two models to find the differences and which is more suitable to buy.
The Max Burton 6200 Deluxe is for home users and has enough features and controls to please them. The design is nice with a plastic frame, silver color, around the glass surface. The cooking surface is raised almost 0.5 cm above the frame. Controls are placed in front at the right, in a concave space that protects them from being melted by accident when a pan slips.
This model has the power range between 200 W and 1800 W with 10 levels. The default level 5 (when you turn on the cooktop) shows 1200 W and can be changed using the arrows. Also you can switch to Temperature Mode if you need to use a specific cooking temperature. There are 10 levels starting from 100 F to 450 F.
The 6200 Deluxe model has a Timer function which can be used to program the cooktop when to shut off. The programmable time is 180 min and the increment is 1 min.
The model has four sensors for safety: pan sensor detection, internal overheat sensor, surface overheating sensor and incorrect voltage. For more information you can check this article.
This model is very popular and has received more then 200 reviews on Amazon.
The Max Burton 6500 ProChef model is for industrial users like restaurants, catering companies and hotels.
The model is built with industrial use in mind, more robust, heavy because of the material used. It has a steel case which makes it resistant to external shocks like hitting or drops. The control section is also rounded by steel and is positioned oblique. This will help to keep the controls dry- if liquids spill theywill not stay long on the buttons. Due to raised steel margins, cleaning could be difficult.
The controls are nicely spread over the entire surface of the control panel, giving an uncrowded look compared to the 6200 model which has all controls on a small panel.
The 6500 model has two operation modes: heating and temp mode. The heating mode will be displayed in watts. The default heating mode is at 1200 W and shows in the digital LED display. Using the arrows you can choose from seven levels : 500, 800, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1600 and 1800 W.
The temp mode allows you to set the desired temperature required by your recipe. The default temperature is 210 F displayed when you press the Temp control. You have 10 levels of temperatures: 100 F, 150 F, 210 F, 250 F, 280 F, 320 F, 360F, 390 F, 430 F and 464 F.
This model comes with 170 minutes programmable time which can be used in both modes: heating or temp. You can use the arrow to set the desire temperature. From 0 to 30 minutes the increment is 1 minute, from 30 to 170 minutes the increment is 10 minutes.
The 6500 model has the Lock function which can’t be found on the 6200 Deluxe model. This will help to avoid unintentional changes of temp or heat settings or shutting off the item that is in use.
On Amazon, you can find enough reviews to get an idea how the model is rated by customers.
For a clearer picture of the differences between 6200 Deluxe and 6500 ProChef I have created the table below.

Glass Cooktop Size | 9.75 L x 11.5 W (24.76 cm x 29.12 cm) | 11 x 11 (28 x 28 cm) | If we calculate the perimeter of both, the 6200 Deluxe has 112.12 square inches compared with 112 square inches for Prochef. This is due to the wide steel frame around the ProChef. One advantage of 6200 is that a larger pan can be used, but not on ProChef because of the raised frames. |

Conclusion
As we can see there are few differences if we are interested in functions and safety features. I expected that 6200 Deluxe, which is dedicated to home users, would have the Function Lock because it will be used at home where you have children and pets.
I think this function is great for home users to avoid any accidents. Overall the 6200 Deluxe has great characteristics and you can find a detailed review here. Even professionals use it with success.
The 6500 ProChef is clearly dedicated to industrial use and the manufacturer created a robust product which can pass the test of a demanding activity.
