SPT SR-1884SS is a freestanding (counter-top) application with dual functions: Cook (power) and Warm.
Micro-Induction Cooktop provides the best in cooktop performance, safety and efficiency.
Induction heats as electricity flows through a coil to produce a magnetic field under the ceramic plate.
Regarding the induction cooktop model SR-1884SS, there is not a boiling function. There are, however, some keep warm functions that you can adjust using the control knob.
There are 13 Keep Warm settings (100-120-140-160-180-190-210-230-250-280-320-350-390 degree Fahrenheit).
The heating element is about 8 inches, the unit is only 11 inches wide. Using a 13″ wide cookware on this may not have even heating.
After the water boils, you will need to switch to a keep warm function or the unit will dry boil. The only negative thing about the cooktop is that the knobs are not marked and it makes for a difficult transition if you are used to cooking on a 1-9 system.
It does not beep when you change temperature from say 100 degrees to 180. But it does beep when you turn on/off and change the temperature reading format.
You need specific pots to work with this unit or a conducting plate. Also if you are cooking a long time and at a higher temp if the unit gets too hot it will shut off; it is safe, but at times annoying.
SPT SR-1884SS has relatively fine temperature settings control and, as it turns out, the 210 (F) setting is just perfect. It keeps the pot just at the right temperature for making great beef stock. It is not recommended to leave the cooktop on unattended. It will shut off automatically after a couple hours from the last time you change the setting.

You can cook without heating the whole kitchen and it is fast!
If, however, you have aluminum or copper pots, they will not work with an induction cooktop.
There are, however, cast iron plates that may be used between the cooktop and the pan. But be careful! They get very hot and stay hot long after turning the power off.

The glass surface is easy to clean; spills will not stick or burn on the cooktop surface.
This one is great and looks really nice on the counter. It has temperature setting rather than levels, although they would correspond.
It heats fast and with the recent hot spell, the cooking meant less room heat. The gas stove and oven would have made too much heat, but this unit kept things down to a minimum.
It takes just seconds for the pan to heat up. You can control the temperatures very accurately. It does take a few times (meaning burnt food as it heats up so quickly) in a learning curve but after that it is great.
Any induction ready cookware will work great. It beeps a lot though for unexplained reasons. It is not annoying, just a little strange.
Also, this is very easy to clean, for many reasons. This product is a great asset to the RV, with limited space.
One problem with these Fagor units is the pan wants to slide off plate, so make sure you have level surface and it will still slide but maybe not as much.
5. Aroma Housewares AID-509
Aroma Housewares AID-509 is a great looking induction cooktop with superb built quality. The plastic is stiff, buttons are firm, easy operating and the glass top is beautiful. It is durable, portable and efficient; it cooks really well with cast iron and stainless steel.
It heats slightly fast and always seems to peak and sit at about 205°F. It cycles power settings to maintain temperature; just let it cycle and cook away.
There are 6 levels of heat, but the warm function is a separate control, which makes a total of 7 levels.
The stove’s footprint is large enough for large pots yet does not take a lot of counter space. The controls are relatively simple to use for short order cooking.
Aside from the quick heat control, the induction stove has a place in many homes and offices as it does not have a heating element which is also a source for fire. The stove remained relatively cool except for the heat absorbed by the cookware. It is a good idea to remove the heated pot from the stove to reduce heat transferred to the stove.
It is a little noisy with the fan running, and the beeps it produces, but cooking is noisy in general.
The fan does eventually shut off, but it does take awhile. It runs the fan for several minutes after you shut it off to cool the electronics inside. The power button must be pushed twice to shut the burner and display off, then it will turn the fan off eventually.
It keeps the content of foods and soups for long periods of time warm safely if left on warm only setting button pushed. It heats up extremely quickly so watch out for soups if you put them on higher number setting, 3 minutes it will be piping hot to eat right away.
This device will only work with pots and pans that magnets will stick to the bottom of, that is how this Aroma Housewares AID-509 induction cooktop operates only with stainless steel bottoms, or whatever magnets will adhere to, otherwise it will not work for you.
It is great for steaming all kinds of vegetables. It makes great spaghetti sauces on it.
You will need to try and error on what temperatures to cook different kinds of meats and other produce on it, everything might take a little different setting, do not walk away unless you are sure how long or fast or short something will cook, you do not want a fire, or burn your dinner, making your family go hungry after hard day work or after school.
Conclusion
